Lasse Kurkela

Lasse Kurkela (b. 2003) lives in Southern Finland and he has been interested in nature and animals most his life. Lasse with his family has spent a lot of time out in nature. By the age 7 years Lasse started increasingly to photograph nature. Soon after he was traveling with his father around Finland and other Nordic countries photographing nature and animals.

Lasse has received several awards for his photographs. He have been awarded as the IFWP Young Photographer of the Year 2016, won the Young Photo 2015 in 26th Memorial Maria Luisa Photo Contest, won the below 14-years age category in Oasis Photo Contest 2015, and won two specially commended in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 competition,. Lasse has also received an annually given environmental achievement award from his home town in Finland.
